The door into the house was stuck. No matter what I did with the key, or my impatient tugs on the handle, it just wouldn’t open. Then, my husband stepped up and “miraculously,” with a gentle pull and a smile on his face, the door swung open. Have you ever had that happen to you? Despite everything you do, the door, the window, the jar … won’t open. Someone else comes along and voilà, it opens!
“Open” is the idea I’m studying in God’s Word. Open doors, open hearts, open hands … you get the picture. What I’m learning is that when God opens doors, NO ONE—not the evil one, nor any human scheme—can shut them. The Apostle John records the Lord’s words to the church in Philadelphia:
“I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that
no one can shut. I know that you have little strength,
yet you have kept My Word andhave not denied My Name.”
(Revelation 3:8, NIV; emphasis mine).
God is the One who opens the doors to ministry opportunities, and as one Bible commentator reminds us, “Every open door of service is a gift from God.” Praise God for the gift of open doors He’s set before Audio Scripture Ministries (ASM), and thank you for joining us on this faith journey! God is our leader. As we partner together to take the next step and the next, it’s so that more people will hear God’s Word in audio, come to faith in Jesus Christ, and become reproducing disciples.

God is using your prayers and generous giving to fulfill The Great Commission:
“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven
and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore go and
make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name
of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
(Matthew 28:19-20, NIV)

South African missionary Andrew Murray (1828-1917) urges us in every endeavor to begin with prayer, but has this caution:
“Beware in your prayers, above everything else, of limiting God, not only by unbelief,
but by fancying that you know what He can do.
Expect unexpected things ‘above all that we ask or think.’”
Let’s not limit God. Rather, together let’s prayerfully and courageously step through the open doors God is giving us to share His Word!
