A Single Seed

Spanning more than 100 acres, with nearly 50,000 identifiable trees, the Pando Quaking Aspen is considered the world’s largest tree, with a shared root system sinking some 30 feet into soil.  Believed to have started from a single seed, Pando, in Utah’s Fishlake National Forest, has survived thousands of years through forest fires, insects, and disease.

Incredible … from a single seed.

Today, your prayers and financial support of Audio Scripture Ministries (ASM) are planting Gospel Seeds (Mark 4).

Gospel Seeds spread further and deeper than any tree—changing lives and communities for eternity!

You’re sowing these Seeds by helping record and share God’s Word in audio, removing barriers to hearing the Gospel as the hands and feet of Jesus, and training Christians in evangelism and discipleship through Bible Engagement.

Let me tell you about “A*,” from Greater South Asia.
Though a young man, he’s highly educated, working in Linguistics and Bible translation for over 15 years.  His first connection to ASM was in 2021 when Dr. Tara Rye, ASM Bible Engagement Director, appeared as a potential Facebook connection.

That  “chance encounter” was God joining two countries and four hearts to spread Gospel Seed.

Though separated by location, language, and culture, a rich friendship developed between “A” and his wife, “S,” with Tara, and her husband, Greg.  Connecting regularly on Zoom, they learned about each other’s families, cultures, ministry, and commitment to Jesus.

Though educated in reaching his people with God’s Word, “A” says a turning point in ministry came when “Dr. Tara encouraged us to begin sharing Bible stories with our community.”

He and his wife used the techniques Tara taught to train five women, who then each trained another five women.

In less than 5 years, more than 200 men and women have been equipped to share God’s Word through Bible Storytelling—deepening their own knowledge of God’s Word and equipping others.

In A*’s region where it’s dangerous to be a Christian, over 50 people have come to faith in Jesus!

Audio Bibles are also essential to sharing God’s Word in a place where rural literacy rates are 25-40%.  Since 2022, ASM donors like you have generously provided “A” and “S” with over 5,000 audio Bibles, in 13 local heart languages.

Yet, audio Bible distribution is not easy.  Teams travel long hours, often overnight, on buses, motorcycles, and on foot, covering a rugged, remote, desert area of some 2,000 kilometers (the distance between Michigan and Florida).

* Names and locations removed for security reasons.

Difficult travel becomes dangerous when it’s known they’re carrying audio Bibles.  Yet, the team is committed to going The Last Mile to get God’s Word into the hands of those who need to hear it.

God is using your prayers and support of ASM to equip Christians like “A*” and “S*” in areas where people have little or no access to God’s Word.

Thank you for helping them faithfully and obediently deepen their own roots in God’s Word, and courageously plant thousands of Gospel Seeds.  The Harvest of those Seeds is on the way – to the glory of God!
