I leaned over the rail to empty the water bottle. The water hit the dry ground, disappearing almost without a trace into the dry Kenyan soil.
The spiritual significance struck me immediately. Just like the Kenyan ground was dry, so too are the sin-parched hearts of men, women, and children in South Asia, East and West Africa, Latin America, North America, and elsewhere. Each person yearns for the Water of Life Who (John 4:14) brings overflowing springs of Salvation, Hope, and Freedom.
Audio Scripture Ministries (ASM) believes that every person
has the right and the need to hear God’s Word in their own heart language
Regardless of location, language, education, disability, or socio-economic status. Thank you for standing with us as together we envision a day when “… the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea” (Habakkuk 2:14, NIV), and “… every nation, tribe, people and language, [stands] before the throne and before the Lamb” (Revelation 7:9, NIV) giving praise to King Jesus.
I’m excited to report that since January, God has allowed ASM and our Gospel Partners to distribute over 19,000 audio Bibles that share the Water of Life, and more are being requested!
In Mexico, I celebrate with ASM Latin America Directors, Jim and Jamie Loker and their Team, who this year have already distributed more than 7,500 audio Bibles in 58 languages (including this man who speaks Nahuatli from Guerrero, photo, right), the most they have ever distributed in one year — wow!
An estimated 10-12 people listen to each audio Bible. Sometimes groups of 30 gather to hear God’s Word in their own heart language — whether through an SD card in a solar speaker (as in South Sudan, photo below) or using Navs, MegaVoice Envoys, or Kulumis.
Conservatively, that means 180,000 people have heard God’s Word already this year—praise the Lord!
