Update From Naomi—June 2024

Hardships of drought, tribal violence, and poverty have made life difficult for this nomadic people group in Northern Kenya. But huge accomplishment was evident on all the smiling faces of the 100 Rendille men and women who celebrated completing their adult literacy course.   Today they were celebrating!

Since many in their community do not yet read, the Rendille received both print and audio Bibles containing 10 books of the Old Testament in their heart language!  This collaborative effort of Tirrim Trust Kenya, TheoVision Kenya, Genesis Waters (Grand Rapids, MI), and Audio Scripture Ministries (ASM) brought great celebration and joy.  As the leaders prayed over and dedicated the translation of the 10 books of the Bible (picture, below), there was a deep gratitude to God, and an eager expectation for how He would soon provide complete Old and New Testament translations and audio recordings.

God is using your prayers and financial support to reach the Rendille, and others like them who need to hear God’s Word in their own mother tongue.  Thank you!  Our partnership in this region is only possible because of your commitment to sharing God’s Word in audio.

Would you pray with us that the translation process would quicken, and that soon many more will  hear the Gospel?  Pray also for pastors, like our partner Pastor David who will now preach from— – and distribute— – the Rendille translation to their own congregations.

As you listen to and read your Bible today, would you please take a moment and pray for the Rendille who are listening to God’s Word right now— herding their camels and goats or preparing meals around the fire—that they would hear, understand, and obey His truth?

May God bless you for your generosity!
