Update from Naomi — August 2024

“Christ for the World, for the World needs Christ!” Eric Liddell

100 years ago, “the Flying Scot,” Eric Liddell, made history at the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris.  This summer, the Olympics returned to Paris.

Liddell, whose life was chronicled in the movie “Chariots of Fire,” put his commitment to God above everything.  Liddell chose not to run in the 100 meters Olympic race because it was held on a Sunday.  God honored that commitment, and Liddell went on to win bronze in the 200 meters and gold in the 400 meters, where he broke both Olympic and world records.

I see this same commitment to God in the generosity of hundreds of people like you, who stand with Audio Scripture Ministries (ASM) by praying and giving financially.  Every prayer, every gift helps share God’s Word in audio with those who need to hear it in their own heart language.  God is using these sacrificial efforts to make a difference in the lives of thousands of people this year who are hearing about the precious treasure of life in Jesus through audio Bibles, Bible Engagement training, and Integral Mission efforts.

After university, Eric Liddell followed his parents into missionary service in China, where 21 years later, at the age of 43, he died in a Japanese internment camp.  Liddell’s story has inspired thousands in their walk with Christ, and challenged them to share Jesus because “the World needs Christ.”

The World needs Christ. True in 1924, and true in 2024.  “The commands the Lord gives are true.  All of them are completely right.  They are more priceless than gold.  They have greater value than huge amounts of pure gold.” (Psalm 19: 9b-10, NLT).

Today, would you pray? Would you give? Let’s share the pure gold of God’s Word in audio, so it can be heard generously around the world!

Prayerfully and Expectantly,

Naomi A. Frizzell

Executive Director
