God’s Word Shines Through the Storm

While post-hurricane rain continued to pummel the coast of Oaxaca, Mexico in autumn of 2024, your support made it possible to bring the hope of God’s Word to many people hungry to hear it. Diego (ASM Mexico Team’s Coordinator of Technology) led an audio Bible distribution in Jicaltepec, where many speak the Pinotepa Mixtec language.

Despite the difficult weather, Diego and the team made it there and back safely. Thank you for your prayers! Though the storms meant less people could attend, those who did make it were full of joy. Not only did many receive audio Bibles for the first time, but some brought their older audio Bibles to load new materials. “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth…” Now in addition to the New Testament, they can listen to sixteen newly-recorded Old Testament books, including Genesis, in their own heart language!

Gospel partners from UNTI and others had the opportunity to share, and a local pastor led a group of children in heartfelt songs of praise before the team gave out audio Bibles. One audio Bible recipient reflected, “These materials have helped me disciple others because now I understand the Word of God well. I am so grateful!”

Moments like these, celebrating 100 additional audio Bibles distributed, are about planting seeds of faith that will continue to grow in homes and communities throughout the region. Your prayers and generosity made this work possible. Please continue to pray for the people rebuilding their homes after the storms—and for the Word of God to take root deeply in the hearts of the Mixtec people. The light of Christ is shining, even after the darkest storms!
