This April, we celebrated the distribution of 800 solar-powered audio Bibles in South Sudan through Pastor Simon and his team. Soon after, violent conflict broke out nearby, displacing hundreds of families who fled to the borders of Ethiopia and South Sudan. Only God knew that many of these families—many of whom were audio Bible recipients—would need to flee. Many brought their audio Bibles with them and are sharing the Gospel with other people around them, some of whom feel without hope.
“They need more prayers and the love of Jesus,” said Pastor Simon. God is using you to answer prayers as more people hear the gospel of Jesus in their own language.
In the current violence and turmoil, many have struggled to gain access to the food and medicines they so desperately needed. Hundreds have fled their homes and are now experiencing widespread displacement. The most vulnerable populations suffer: especially the elderly and the children.
In the face of many unknowns, the certainty of God’s Word remains an anchor for many, and leaders in the area are asking for hundreds more audio Bibles to meet the need. “Jesus is calling people to know Him personally … and Audio Bibles help many come to know Him!” they say.
This month, Pastor Simon and his team have returned to the region to provide additional training to 215 leaders, meet physical needs, and provide 800 additional solar-speakers with God’s Word in audio. They know the dangers of traveling in this area, but boldly say “We will not give the devil a chance of laughing at our failure to reach out to people for the Lord’s sake,” Simon declares. “More souls are coming to Jesus Christ through Audio Bibles!”
